Look for pictures of the Master Gardener Grandchildren here.
You've heard of tiptoe through the tulips, now we have stomping through the stellas.  This is my granddaughter Paige.
Here we have Carson Taylor, age 2 hauling produce from the garden for Grandma Pat Campbell.
Once again we find Carson, age 3 here taking time to smell Grandma Pat's daylilies.
My grandson JT at the UC Museum working as a volunteer on Pioneer Days.  He's demonstrating how to shell corn.  He is 7 years old.
This is Kai Stewart, grandson of Gerri Ward as he explores the woods on the family farm.
This is Layla Stewart, granddaughter of Gerri Ward as she takes the time to stop and take in the gentle fragrance of the appleblossom tree.
Master Gardener Rita Shannon brings the project "Paint a Pot" for kids to the Farmer's Market.  Children were invited to come and paint a flower pot and receive a packet of flower seeds to plant in it. About 20 children participated.
Master Gardener Arhonda Coleman brings her expertise in Container Gardening to the Farmer's Market in a grand display of foilage and flowers.
Many of the smaller arrangements that Arhonda made for her presentation that day.  Note the fabulous display made in the old straight back wooden chair.

These photos showcase the Union County Master Gardener's Award winning Christmas tree at the Holiday Street Event in November 2009.  The decorations are all handmade by the ladies of the Master Gardeners.

Left center is a birdnest made from grasses.  Left lower is a flower made from a slice of a bodock ball that was baked.  The topper (top right) is made from grasses and sumac pods. To the right is a snowflake made from a sweet gum ball with round toothpicks glued in it.  The tree was moved after the Holiday Street display to the Union County Heritage Museum for display during Christmas.  I would like to thank those ladies for an amazing job making all those ornaments.  They are Sherra Owen(chairperson),Janet Burress, Helen Brown, Arhonda Coleman, Bettye McMillen, Gerri Ward, Ria Shannon, Pat Campbell, Camille Davis, and Brenda Roberson.
