New Albany Gardening

We are especially proud of this project.  It is a joint effort of the Union County Master Gardeners and the Dogwood Hills Garden Club.  Master Gardener Arhonda Coleman is the chairperson of this project.  Her husband,George, helps her build the frames for these "Potheads" as we call them.  The ladies in both clubs spent numerous hours designing and building these displays.  THis is the second year that we have done this project and look forward to next years display.  I heard through the grapevine that Arhonda will use nursery rhymes for the theme next year.  I look forward to seeing them.  Thanks is also due to the UCDA for funding part of this project.
This is our flagship scarecrow display.  It is placed in front of the Union County Development Association Office.  This scene depicts a family picnic at the "Park Along the River".  The theme this year was "Making Do".

This display was set up across from City Hall and depicts the Dogwood Hills Garden Club Ladies at their sewing circle.

This scene was set up at back of Region's Bank near the rear entrance to the New Albany Police Department.  This setting depicts a Grandfather spending time with his granddaughter.
