New Albany Gardening

The Faulkner Literary Garden is located at the Union County Heritage Museum in New Albany, Mississippi.  Born in New Albany in 1897, William Faulkner is considered the greatest writer of the 20th century.  The garden features quotes from his work related to plants and the landscape of his work and world in North Mississippi.

The Wisteria in the top photo puts on a beautiful spring show at the entrance of the garden.

Although not a part of the garden proper', the geraniums which bloom on the front porch of the neaby vintage physicians office, help tell the Faulkner Garden Story.

In the bottom photo you will see one of the many native roses to this area blooming in all it's splendor.

The garden itself is maintained by an all volunteer staff headed up by Sherra Owen from the New Albany Garden Club and the museum staff.
